Venturebeat has written a rather long article on how Microsoft sees the importance of gaming on Xbox Live, but completely buried the lead.
Besides Matt Thompson, general manager of developer and platform evangelism for Microsoft’s statement that Xbox Live will be the “the hook that helps sell Windows Phone 7 devices and unseats Apple’s iPhone iOS operating system, BlackBerry OS and Android as the dominant mobile platform”, they also go on about how Xbox Live will allows gamers to “carry their online persona into the real world”.
They of course completely miss the importance of the big news – Zynga’s Farmville is coming to Windows Phone 7!
